Swim and unwind at the breathtaking Seitan Limania beach — a hidden gem on the northeastern edge of the Akrotiri peninsula in Chania. Unlike any other beach, Seitan Limania features three narrow inlets carved into steep cliffs, creating a unique and secluded atmosphere. The name “Seitan” is of Turkish origin, meaning “devilish,” dating back to the Ottoman era in Crete.
Despite the ominous name, the beach is truly heavenly, with turquoise crystal-clear waters and dramatic marble rock formations that shield it from rough weather.
Until recently, Seitan Limania was a well-kept secret, gaining popularity only after road access was improved. There are no facilities at the beach, so be sure to bring water, snacks, and essentials — and remember to leave only footprints behind.
