The Theophrastus palm forest, which lines the river, adds an exotic and serene atmosphere. After a major fire in 2010, the forest has made an extraordinary recovery.

At the mouth of the river, where it meets the sea, a wide beach with fine sand and pebbles awaits. Keep an eye out for the natural heart-shaped rock on the eastern side of the beach.
